The Future Grid Coalition has intervened to promote metered energy efficiency in the Diablo Canyon shutdown proceeding at the California Public Utilities Commission. Our position has been that the Commission should put all $1.3 billion that PG&E has proposed spending on energy efficiency as part of Diablo Canyon's shutdown toward metered energy efficiency projects. This would give the commission a chance to set standards for metered energy efficiency and make a market of substantial size a reality. This work has been supported, pro-bono, by the law firm Morrison Foerster.
